Virtually anybody can earn an online income nowadays. The Internet has created a wide audience reach that are hungry for information and willing to pay for solutions that can solve their problems quickly. So you need to research the problems that created this demand first and only then provide offers to solve this. Remember, most people are impatient when they stumble onto obstacles and want to resolve it today, if not yesterday!

Once you have established the problem, the need and you can provide the solution, then you have established yourself a niche. You do not need to be the expert, but you can acquire the expertise by research and even joint venturing with the expert. Starting out any online venture requires the right mindset. You need to decide whether you want to focus on active or passive income. The best would be a mixture of both. Most marketers want active income quickly, either to add to existing employed income or replacing their day jobs, but that just mean replacing one for another. The long term focus needs to be passive income, where you put in all the work now and get rewarded continuously later. So how do you achieve this?

Firstly, let me remind you that you need the right mindset. Nothing comes for free. You will need to put in the hours and sweat. You will run into obstacles. You will struggle. You will want to give up and feel it is not working, but persevere and your rewards will be worth all this. Just imagine being your own boss and having the freedom to enjoy life! So again, how do you achieve this?

Well you need to get yourself an online presence, build credibility and a responsive following. The basic tools you need are a domain, hosting and autoresponder. You can go down the ‘free’ route by starting out on Blogger and mailchimp as autoresponder, but the advice is if you are serious about making money online, then get yourself a domain name at Godaddy (that I use) and install wordpress once you have a hosting provider. Hosting providers like Hostgator, Lifetime hosting, Bluehost are all good, but I use D9 Hosting as it comes highly recommended by other internet marketers. Mailchimp as autoresponder is fine to start off, but is not very affiliate friendly and I would recommend Aweber or GetResponse as they provide excellent templates and integration to other internet marketing tools.

The basic Internet Marketing strategies always remain the same. Firstly, set up your website, start filling it with relevant content, create an irresistible lead magnet (offer to give away), drive traffic to the offer, gather leads in your connected autoresponder and follow up with emails. I must admit there is still a lot going on in the background not mentioned here, but do you get the picture? Is it really this simple? I will add more detail in my blog as I go on this route. Feel free to comment.
