The budget for marketing in general dental practice is on average 8-10% of turnover and if it is in a growth phase, 10-13%. In periods of so-called recession you will need to up this to increase your visibility.
Dental marketing can be grouped as:
Basic (external or internal)
Advanced
Latest or hottest cutting edge.The latter will allow you to leap-frog ahead of all other practices and destroy competition and eliminate any fear of recession. These days, it is not a case of being pro-active to get the edge over the competition; you need to be pro-active just to keep up. These are the most up to date marketing techniques that lead to high conversion rates and getting in early, give you the edge.The marketing strategies are really focussing on educating patients to make the right decisions. Secondly, you will try to get out as much as possible as quickly as possible from your marketing effort.
You need to write down your goals and specify exactly what you want to achieve on an annual base, for example:
1.How much do you want to nett this coming year?
2.What is the gross needed to achieve this? Expenditure list.
3.How many patients are needed to achieve this?
4.What kind of patients do you want? Breakdown niches.
5.How many big case acceptances are needed? Set down limit.
6.External and internal marketing budget allocations?
7.Track your results on monthly basis!
8.Plan income surges when on holidays.
9.Do not copy others, you will only get the same results. So, be different and see your practice as a growing investment and track your ROI.(Return on investment)About the Author:
